Military surgeon's amputation saw by Maw, London

With cast brass handle and steel blade, this amputation saw could tell a few stories, the handle well formed to grip the hand. Stamped MAW LONDON and with the military broad arrow or ‘crows foot’ ordnance mark has been used on British Army equipment since the 16th century. S. Maw & Son were London based makers of surgical equipment, throughout the 19th and 20th century.
