Antique 24 hour French railway regulator watch.
The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. It is all protected by an inner hinged cover which has details of the movement, ancre double plateau (lever escapement, double roller), levees visible (visible jewelled pallets), 15 rubis.
The watch measures 68mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is marked as being Argentan (nickel silver). It is in good condition with just a little unevenness to the hinged case back, nothing too serious.
The watch has a glass lens, the main face has a couple of fairly minor marks but not too noticeable, and some nibbles and chips to the bevelled edge.
The dial is signed Regulateur des chemins de fer de France, which translates as French railway regulator. It also mentions Medaille d’Or Paris 1900, gold medal won at the Paris 1900 trade exhibition.
The dial has a 24 hour arrangement, with an outer 60 minute dial, and an inner 12 hour dial picked out in red so you have two 12 hour references if the user prefers not to use the 24 hour system. The dial has a small area of damage above number 1, with radiating hairlines, and various other hairlines but they are faint. Pin set hands.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
