A fine Bow porcelain figure of the Dancing Shepherdess with an adorable little lamb at her feet. Wearing a cream and lilac hat, blue and yellow bodice and blouse with red ribbons on her sleeves, a white skirt with delicate puce painted flowers and finished with yellow shoes with red ribbons. Stood on a simple base with a few scattered flowers, c.1754-1765.
Provenance: Peter Bradshaw collection and illustrated in ''Bow Porcelain Figures'' by Bradshaw, colour plate X, reference B115, also page 177. (The Boy Shepherd Piper illustrated alongside is also available). Also the C P Neve Collection.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2'') high and 6.3cm (2 1/2'') wide by 7cm (2 3/4'') deep.
In good condition display condition: she has been repaired at the waist and the repair line crosses the right wrist also. A small amount of professional restoration to the left hand. Minor handling wear with the enamels still nice and bright.
