Victorian 1.50 Carat Opal Five Stone Ring, Circa 1900

Description

A magisterial Victorian opal ring. The graduating line of five cabochon opals display a fresh and exciting play of colours, with clear flashed of blue, green, yellow and red. The stones are set in a carved half-hoop gallery and are interspaced by four pairs of small rose cut diamonds.

Cut:? Three oval cabochon opals, with two round cabochons at each end. The diamonds are rose cuts.

Colour:? The diamonds are G to H.

Clarity:? The diamonds are eye-clean.

Carat:? The total approximate weight of the opals is 1.50 carat. With 0.04 carat of diamonds.

Circa:? 1900.

Size:? P 1/2 (UK) or 7 3/4 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? From the edge of one outer opal to the other is 22mm. The ring is 8.3mm at the widest point and sits 5.8mm from the finger.

Weight:? 5.11 grams.

Metal:? Stamped 18c - indicating 18k gold - and tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer to confirm.
