Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

French Art Deco bronze sculptures are defined by their emphasis on movement, geometric forms, and stylised human figures, often depicting dancers, athletes, or mythological themes. Sculptors during this period frequently used distinct patinations and mounted figures onto geometric marble or onyx bases.

These figures were cast in bronze using the lost-wax or sand-casting methods, followed by hand-chasing to refine surface details. Chemical patination was applied to achieve specific green, brown, or gold surface tones before mounting the bronze onto a carved stone pedestal.

Authenticity is assessed by evaluating cast quality, cold-work finishing details, bronze weight, and historical foundry marks or artist signatures. Natural aging of the patination and historical marble base construction also provide evidence of period origin.

A bronze statuette serves as a focal accent on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or within a curated bookcase. The metallic tones and stone base complement both minimalist modern schemes and traditional dark wood interiors.

Dust the bronze softly using a dry microfibre cloth or camel-hair brush, avoiding water and chemical detergents. Periodically applying a thin coat of neutral microcrystalline wax helps protect the patination from oxidisation and moisture.
