Victorian Silver Mounted Moser Glass Scent Bottle by the Mousley Brothers, Birmingham 1896

Description

This exquisite silver and Moser cranberry enamelled glass scent bottle is dated Birmingham 1896 and was made by the prolific Mousley Brothers. The cranberry discoidal glass body etched with an unusual lace pattern heightened with white enamel dots. The neck with a fully hallmarked hinged silver lid embossed with flower heads. The neck fitted with a clear glass stopper.

Hallmarks:

M. BROS for the Mousley Brothers.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "w" for 1908.

Dimensions:

Height: 6.5cm / 2.5 inches.

Diameter: 5cm / 2 inches.

Depth: 1.5cm / 0.6 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

Silver lid in good condition.

Glass body in very good condition.

Enamel decorations in good condition.
