Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne silver flatware, produced between 1702 and 1714, is distinguished by plain, unadorned surfaces, dognose or trefid handle terminals, and long rat-tail reinforcements on the reverse of the spoon bowls.

These pieces were hand-forged from high-purity sterling silver, cast in ingots, and hammered into shape before being struck with local assay office hallmarks and makers marks.

Authentic items feature clear town marks, makers punches, and date letters struck along the stem, along with characteristic surface wear, hand-engraved period monograms, and rat-tail bowl joins.

Early silver flatware can be displayed mounted inside shadow-box frames, arranged on velvet-lined trays on a sideboard, or incorporated into formal dining table settings.

Clean silver using a gentle, non-abrasive silver foam or cream applied with a soft cotton cloth, avoiding harsh chemical dips or automated dishwashers to protect the natural patina.
