An Exceptional Walnut Chest Early 18th C

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Gibson Antiques

A rare mulberry and walnut chest of the early eighteenth century .

The construction of the piece being in walnut to the sides and crossbanding on the top and drawers, the main top and drawer fronts are in a wonderful burr mulberry that sets it apart from other chests of this period being that they would usually be constructed of walnut alone .

The choice of mulberry veneer on the top and front of drawers is superb and the piece has been fully and sympathetically restored in our workshops.
