The desk boasts a classic “skyscraper” design in the shape of a cloud, with a stepped serpentine shaped top section above two bow shaped pedestals. The desk measures 4ft wide. The Art Deco office desk top boasts stunning quality bur walnut detail. The top section consists of three serpentine shaped drawers above a bank of three bowed drawers in each pedestal, therefore a total of nine drawers. The desk retains its original turned knobs. The bow shaped pedestals sit on elegant recessed Art Deco curved plinths. This Art Deco cloud desk boasts classic Art Deco styling in the overall design of the curved corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the feet. The drawer linings are constructed of sycamore, with dovetail joints. This is a single piece desk which does not dismantle. It is unusual to see of a desk of this design and shape in the marketplace. Condition Report:This desk has been adapted from a dressing table. The Art Deco desk has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no stains or scratches to the top of the desk. The drawers retain their original knobs. The Art Deco desk boasts a lovely mellow golden walnut colour and patination; which can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
