Quarter plate bevelled edge with central reading marker sat over the top mounted in a polished brass bezel. Bears the makers name for London barometer makers Newton & Co, Fleet St - barometer makers to Queen Victoria. Fredrick Newton is recorded as making barometers from 1858 to 1900.
