Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Introduced in the late 1960s, the Omega Seamaster Chronostop was designed as a simplified single-pusher chronograph aimed at a younger demographic and sports enthusiasts. It features a stop-second mechanism designed for timing short intervals, combining utility with distinct mid-century case geometry.

These watches were primarily constructed using solid stainless steel cases, acrylic crystals, and mechanical hand-wound movements. Original dials featured tritium luminous markers and painted hands, often paired with perforated leather straps or steel bracelets.

Authentic examples feature correct dial typography, including the Omega logo and Seamaster script, along with a genuine single-pusher function at the top right. Examining the case back for the embossed Seamaster hippokampos logo and verifying the internal calibre serial number confirms authenticity.

Vintage wristwatches can be incorporated into modern dressing areas or study interiors by presenting them within leather valet trays, glass-topped display cases, or alongside vintage horological literature.

Preserving a vintage mechanical watch requires regular servicing by a qualified watchmaker, avoiding water exposure, keeping it away from strong magnetic fields, and storing it in a dry, climate-controlled environment.
