Stunning French Carved Walnut Kingsize Bed, Paris Maker

1900 - 1920
Description

This stunning french bed is offered in very good condition.

The bed is kingsize width (1500 mm ) but only double length (1900 mm). A bespoke mattress would be required, we can supply a bespoke mattress on request for very competitive price.

The manufacturer’s brass plaque is on the headboard, the cabinetmaker was one of the talented Parisian artisans and won a medal at the World’s Fair of 1867.

The bed has a very ornately carved footboard with floral swags, ribbons and very intricate flowers including peonies.

The frame has carved detailing and the bed stands on carved escargot feet with original brass castors.

The headboard has a carved motif above the frame and has a wonderful panel with amazing grain detailing which only comes from using the very best walnut.

The bed comes with a newly fitted set of substantial bed slats.
