Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

First popularised in eighteenth-century Britain during the Georgian era, tilt-top wine and tea tables featured space-saving mechanisms that allowed the tabletop to tilt vertically when pushed against a wall. The pie-crust rim was a refined carved edge designed to prevent teacups or glasses from slipping off.

These tables were typically crafted from dense solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, prized for their rich colour and stability, along with brass catch mechanisms beneath the tabletop.

Authentic revival pieces feature hand-carved or crisp machine-moulded pie-crust borders, a turned central pedestal with tripod cabriole legs, and functional brass tilt catches or snap-latches underneath.

Position the piece alongside an armchair as an occasional drink rest, place it in an empty alcove to hold a table lamp, or style it in a reading nook to bridge traditional timber character with contemporary soft furnishings.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth and applying a light coat of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the table away from direct heat sources and radiators.
