This is a good quality antique Edwardian pair of tub chairs, with a neoclassical design, constructed in solid mahogany, with boxwood inlay, circa 1910, which have been newly upholstered, in excellent condition.  Featuring a circular curved top rail, the pair of Edwardian mahogany chairs are embellished with boxwood string inlay, secured by three pierced vertical splats; incorporating diamond-shaped boxwood inlay, attached to a circular mahogany seat frame.  The seats have been newly upholstered in a top-quality cream & pale gold structured silk brocade, incorporating a diamond / lattice pattern, finished with matching braiding.  The underside of the seats has been re-webbed in the traditional manner, with a hessian backing, to ensure the seats are comfortable but also supportive at the same time.  The pair of tub chairs are raised on elegant square tapering string inlaid mahogany legs, which are united by elegant turned cross-stretchers, for additional strength and terminate on spade feet.
