Mid 19th Century Mahogany Lap Tray, Breakfast Bed Tray C1850, 61cm wide, stamped.

A very fine quality, well constructed breakfast lap tray circa 1850 by Urquhart and Adamson, Liverpool with makers stamp to base.

The 61cm wide mahogany tray features twin butlers or ladies maid carrying handles, turned legs to each corner in a style suggesting mid 19th century and consistent with Urquhart and Adamson’s presence in the wealthy and industrialist city of Liverpool with great shipping trade and large city and country houses.

Presented in mostly very good condition, showing evidence of wear and use to authenticate, minimal water stain to top and a repair to the back gallery rail but otherwise mostly excellent, please see all images as they show an honest assessment of condition. Structurally excellent with splendid patination, a very nice example.
