A fine and rare Flight, Barr & Barr, Worcester Porcelain Rose Water Sprinkler c.1815. Of classical form, the spout formed from a bird with its wings outstretched, the handle from a serpent, both highlighted in gold, finely painted with a panel of flowers on a grey background, almost certainly by Thomas Baxter. The deep cobalt blue ground profuse with seaweed gilding to the reverse & sides along with a band of neoclassical gilding. Unmarked.
Thomas Baxter worked for Flight & Barr, Worcester from 1814 where he specialised in painting figure subjects, portraits and miniatures such as this Rose Water Sprinkler.
