Edwardian 4.70 Carat Montana Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, Circa 1905

Description

An antique sapphire ring of real intrigue and beauty. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Montana, USA - has a strong purple hue which is interrupted by clear and distinct flashed of bright red. The sapphire is surrounded by 16 eight-cut diamonds in a silver coronet setting, which sits on a slender 18k yellow gold mount with ornate split shoulders.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is American (Montana) in origin.

Cut:? The sapphire is an oval, with eight-cut diamonds.

Colour:? The diamonds are J to K.

Clarity:? The sapphire has visible inclusions. The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.

Carat:? The sapphires is approximately 4.70 carat, with approximately 0.16 carat of diamonds.

Circa:? 1905.

Size:? N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? The sapphire is approximately 11.0 x 8.9mm and sits 6.4mm from the finger.

Weight:? 5.29 grams.

Metal:? 18k yellow gold. The diamond and the sapphire are set in silver. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
