A rare Spode Bottle and stand c.1820. Very finely decorated in pattern 1166. Spode’s pattern number 1166 was introduced circa 1806 and was one of the most sumptuous designs produced by Spode. Painted by hand with all over sprays of brightly coloured flowers and gilded mons, reserved upon a cobalt blue ground with graduated gilded scales.
Listed in as Shape Number 252 in The Spode 1820 Shape Book as ''''Bottle Milk & Stand.''''
Note: The stand is not the original one and appears to be a matched replacement but still c.1820
Condition: Excellent. Hardly any wear to the decoration on the bottle. A couple of very small flea-bite sized chips to the base of the bottle. A small amount of wear to the stand.
