Victorian Amboyna Sutherland Table

A fine quality Victorian amboyna Sutherland table with ebony and chequered inlay banded edges c.1875. The drop leaf top with choice cut amboyna veneers, the outer edges moulded and banded with ebony; fruitwood chequered banding to the inside edge. Sat on a twin turned pedestal base with gilt brass mounts, moulded foot and supporting centre stretcher all veneered and inlaid to match the top. The hinged top raising and the internal legs opening out to support the surface and form a low occasional table. The underside of the leaves with burr veneers, the feet with original brass and porcelain castors. Presented in superb original condition with a rich polish. Measures when top folded - 27" long x 6" deep x 23.5" high. When open top measures 30" wide x 27" long.
