Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Imari porcelain refers to Japanese ceramic wares crafted in the Arita region and exported from the port of Imari, characterized by distinct underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron-red decoration enhanced with gilding.

Pieces were formed from kaolin-rich white clay, painted with cobalt oxide underglaze patterns, fired at high temperatures, and subsequently detailed with overglaze enamels and gold leaf in secondary low-temperature firings.

Authentic pieces exhibit a characteristic palette of deep cobalt blue, rust red, and gilded highlights, accompanied by minor hand-painted variations, high-fired porcelain density, and foot rim wear consistent with age.

Display the vase on a mantelpiece, console table, or within a curated shelf arrangement where its detailed patterns offer visual contrast against neutral walls or complement dark timber surfaces.

Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent with a non-abrasive soft cloth, avoiding chemical cleaners or dishwashers that could degrade the overglaze enamelling and gilding.
