Royal Dux porcelain originates from the Dux porcelain manufactory founded in Bohemia in the mid-nineteenth century. The maker gained international recognition during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods for producing decorative porcelain figures and vases characterized by distinctive glazes and classical motifs.

These pieces are made from fine kaolin porcelain clay cast in multi-part plaster moulds. After initial firing, details are applied using underglaze or overglaze pigments and clear or matt glazes before a final high-temperature kiln firing.

Authentic pieces typically feature an applied pink porcelain triangle mark on the base, often depicting an acorn and the word Dux or Royal Dux. Additionally, impressed four-digit model numbers and shape codes are usually stamped into the unglazed ceramic base.

A pair of porcelain figures can be displayed symmetrically on a sideboard top, mantelpiece, or within a glass display cabinet. Placing them against a contrasting background highlights their form and tonal glazes without visual clutter.
