Description

Two large figurines, made under the Royal Capodimonte, Royal factory.

Dating around the 1800s the king of Naples and Sicily took charge of the porcelain factories producing goods to match the quality of European manufacturers.

These large figures are top class collectable porcelain.

A huntsman with a musket, satchel and Pheasant, and the hunts lady accompanied by a gun dog with a grouse in it's mouth.

Both pieces in perfect condition with only one minor break to the gentleman's gun.

This has been reglued and is invisible.

Capodimonte porcelain was originally established in Naples, Italy, in 1743 by King Charles III of Bourbon. The factory became famous for producing fine soft-paste porcelain figurines and decorative wares, characterised by elaborate modeling, pastoral subjects, and distinctive rococo bases.

These figurines are crafted from hard-paste or soft-paste porcelain clay, fired at high temperatures, and decorated using overglaze polychrome enamels. Detailed features and scrolling bases are typically finished with hand-applied gold gilding.
