Description

A fabulous 19th Century finely hand carved giltwood marble top console table of exceptional quality and in lovely original condition. The stunning moulded and shaped Carrara White marble top of rectangular form is raised over a shaped and panelled frieze with lambs tongue and beaded row moulding border detail and with an exquisitely detailed centred plaque with a beautifully carved arrangement of Neoclassical motifs comprising of ribbon bows, flowerhead and richly scrolling foliate motif detail, flanked with panels of applied flowerhead paterae. Supported on elegantly, tapering ring turned leg with fluted detail and further decorative diamond, bead and panels of applied flowerhead paterae conjoined with concave moulded stretcher with beaded row detail throughout and surmounted with a centred arrangement of foliate, finely carved in high relief, terminating on stylised arrow and ball foot.
