Sat on the original stone plinth with the artists signature to the front left. Excellent rich original patination, the plinth in perfect condition. Georges Gardet mainly worked in marble and made many large pieces displayed at prominent public places in Paris, he exhibited widely including at the Salon des Artistes at the age of 20 and won many prizes and honours.
