Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian work table is a small accent table produced during the early 20th century, typically designed to store needlework, sewing implements, or writing materials inside a small drawer or basket structure.

These tables were frequently crafted from satinwood, mahogany, or rosewood, often featuring painted floral decorations, boxwood stringing, crossbanded borders, and brass keyhole escutcheons.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural timber patination, hand-painted decorative motifs, traditional dovetailed drawer joints, period-correct brass hardware, and fine graining characteristics of West Indian or East Indian satinwood.

Position the piece as an occasional side table beside a sofa, within a reading nook, or in an entryway to function as a compact surface for decorative objects while introducing warmth and historical character.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoid placing the item in direct sunlight or near radiator heat sources, and apply a thin layer of natural beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish.
