1900 - 1920
For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive antique GIA certified 0.99 carat Colombian emerald and 0.35 carat diamond, 18 carat white gold and platinum set ring; part of our diverse collection of emerald jewellery.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique 1920s emerald ring has been crafted in 18ct white gold with a platinum setting.

The pierced decorated, oval-shaped setting is ornamented with a stunning feature four-claw set 0.99ct Colombian octagonal step cut emerald.

This swept empire style setting is ornamented with a collet set square faceted cut diamond to the cardinal points, alternating with two lobed wireloop strands, each incorporating a claw set eight-cut diamond, completing the desirable dispersed cluster design.

The elevated, pierced decorated ring shoulders integrate with the main setting and blend seamlessly with the plain ring shank.

This ring has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold and platinum.

This impressive ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card, in addition to a Gemological Institute Of America (GIA) certificate* for the emerald.

NOTE: * This documentation accredits the emerald originating in Colombia (Colombian) and certifies that the gemstone shows signs of moderate clarity enhancement.

'Rather than regarding inclusions in coloured stones as harmful, in small sizes and numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty, they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics.'

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s is defined by linear geometric patterns, bold colour contrasts, and fine craftsmanship using white gold or platinum to accentuate bright precious gemstones like Colombian emeralds.

Jewellers during the Art Deco era frequently paired natural emeralds and diamonds with 18ct white gold or platinum to showcase sleek, modern metallic settings alongside vivid coloured gemstones.

Authentic 1920s pieces feature period-correct hallmarks, hand-finished millegrain or openwork filigree, and specific stone cuts like step cuts or old European cuts set in geometric frameworks.

An antique emerald ring functions as a striking statement piece when paired with clean neutral attire or tailored eveningwear, allowing the vibrant green gemstone and white gold frame to remain the focal point.

Emeralds require gentle handling; clean using warm soapy water and a soft cloth while avoiding ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, or extreme temperature shifts that could compromise natural fissures.
