The slim proportioned case with moulded edge and feathered book matched veneers; the edges strung to match the door. Turned cistern cover to the base. The silvered scale with vernier marker and thermometer set to the left of the mercury action barometer tube, bears the makers name Ortelly & Co, Macclsfield (listed in Banfields book of barometer makers as working between 1810 and 1830). Superb original mellow colour and original patina to the casework, the dial re-silvered and the movement fully overhauled and working. Presented in superb condition with a deep shine.
