Art Deco 2.86 Carat Opal & Diamond Ring, Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
Description

The most striking vintage opal ring. The long opal in the centre has an even, gray-ish background colour, with lively and distinct flashed of green and blue. The opal is accented by four lines of three old cut diamonds in milgrained palladium rubover settings, and sits nice and low to the finger on a slim and tapering 18k yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by an independent jewellery report from IGR.

Cut:? Long oval opal with old cut diamonds.

Colour:? The diamonds range from H to J.

Clarity:? The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.

Carat:? The opal is approximately 2.86 carat, with an approximate diamond weight of 0.24 carat.

Condition:? One side of one of the split claws is missing (this can be seen in the photos). This is purely cosmetic; the opal isn't loose or in danger of falling out.

Circa:? 1930.

Size:? M (UK) or 6 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? The head of the ring is 22.0 x 13.6mm and sits 4.3mm from the finger.

Weight:? 3.69 grams.

Metal:? 18k gold. The diamonds are set in palladium. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
