Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A 1960s cocktail ring is characterized by bold proportions, prominent central gemstones, and intricate metalwork such as wirework or multi-strand bands. Popularized as high-fashion statement accessories, these pieces reflect mid-century jewellery trends towards dramatic texture and dimensional gemstone arrangements.

Mid-century cocktail rings were commonly crafted from 18ct or 14ct yellow gold, platinum, or white gold. They frequently incorporate high-carat precious gemstones, such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies, accented by brilliant-cut or baguette diamonds.

Authentic pieces from this era feature period-appropriate hallmarks indicating gold purity, maker marks, or assay marks. Examination of the construction often reveals hand-finished wirework, hand-set prongs, and specific gem-cutting styles characteristic of mid-twentieth-century manufacturing.

A statement cocktail ring is typically worn on the right hand to serve as a focal point. It pair well with minimalist evening attire or tailored suiting, allowing the yellow gold and gemstone contrast to remain uncluttered.

Emeralds are relatively porous and brittle compared to diamonds, requiring careful handling. Clean the piece using a soft dry cloth or lukewarm soapy water without harsh detergents, avoiding steam or ultrasonic cleaners that can remove natural oil treatments.
