Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Gothic Revival bracket clocks originated in the nineteenth century, drawing visual inspiration from medieval ecclesiastical architecture. They feature structural motifs such as lancet arches, traceried panels, pointed pinnacles, and carved or cast columns.

A double fusee movement utilizes a conical brass pulley connected via a chain or gut line to equalise the mainspring tension as it unwinds. This mechanical design ensures consistent timekeeping accuracy while driving both the timekeeping train and the striking mechanism.

Authentic nineteenth-century examples display heavy, cast-bronze or brass cases with hand-finished detailing, silvered brass dials with etched Roman numerals, and steel mechanical movements with heavy brass plates rather than modern stamped alloy parts.

Positioning a heavy dark bronze clock on a minimalist stone mantelpiece or a sleek timber sideboard creates a strong focal point. Pairing it with contemporary abstract artwork or neutral textured ceramics balances the dark, detailed metalwork.

Keep the metal case clean by gently dusting it with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical polishes that strip original patination. Mechanical clock movements require periodic lubrication and servicing by a professional horologist every three to five years.
