P A Oxley Antique Clocks & Barometers has dated this Antique Octagonal Wall Clock to the 19th Century.
The front of the case is veneered with mahogany and inlaid with brass scrollwork. The brass bezel features a convex glass and can be secured into place using the lockable side door. There is also a further access door to the base of the case.

The single fusee 8 day movement has an anchor escapement and with blued steel matching hands. The painted dial is signed Kleyser, 4 Goswell Street. This street in London is now called Goswell Road and is located in the area of Clerkenwell. An area very well known for Clockmaking.
