Jane Short Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
He later moved to England where he married and was a successful artists, painting pictures for Queen Ann and William III.
The painting is in good condition commensurate with age and no paint losses. There are some old mends to the reverse of the canvas but they are not visible from the front and the canvas is in all ways secure.
