A rare English Victorian antique solid sterling silver beer flagon / jug. The silver is hallmarked for London 1864 with the makers mark being AM. It has been superbly made with the lid engraved with a lion holding a battle axe possible the crest of the Clowes Family of London. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits chips cracks and repairs. It measures approx. 5.5 inches (14cm) across by 8.75 inches (22.3cm) tall and weighs 778 grams. A nice quality piece.
