Art Deco 4.24 Carat Black Opal Solitaire Ring, Circa 1935

Description

An awesome natural and untreated black opal which is perfectly showcased in a white gold and palladium setting. The opal, depending on which way the light catches it, displays clears flashes or reds, oranges and greens. Engraved palladium shoulders add interest without 'competing' with the centre stone, leading to a slender 18k white gold shank.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) confirming the opal is natural and untreated.

Cut:? Oval cabochon.

Carat:? 4.24.

Circa:? 1935.

Size:? L (UK) or 5.5 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements:? The opal is 14.2 x 12.1mm. The ring sits 5.1mm from the finger.

Weight:? 2.68 grams.

Metal:? The band is 18k white gold. The setting and the shoulders are palladium. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
