An Elegant Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug

An elegant Victorian silver mounted claret jug, of simple and stylish design. The hallmarked silver mount is rococo in design and has a hinged lid with a flower terminal and vacant cartouche to both front and back. The silver extends from the hinged lid, to the collar and pouring lip. The attached handle sweeps downwards towards the base in a serpentine form. The glass is ovoid in shape and features a cut star to the pedestal base. An excellent piece, both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
