This is a wonderful Original 19th-century Oval Oil on Board Painting depicting a young handsome musician serenading his female companion.
The piece dates to circa 1870 and it is signed in the lower right.
It is believed to be of Canadian School as the previous owners purchased the piece in Canada during the 20th century.
The fabulous image portrays the elegantly dressed couple standing on a large country house balcony.
The painting is mounted within a super quality carved oval gilt and gesso moulded frame that retains the beautiful Convex glazed protective panel.
