Regency Giltwood Overmantle Mirror, C.1830

Description

A very attractive Regency period giltwood overmantle mirror in a good original condition, c.1830.

Original gilt surface and mercury mirror plate. Attractive ebonised reeded slip. The mirror is simply flanked by three chunky columns all meeting at two intricately detailed flower paterae.

The original mercury mirror plate has darkened giving it a greyish hue but it remains reflective. There is some plate degradation to the lower edge providing the wonderful 'sparkle'.
