Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in 18th-century England, these wall-mounted cupboards feature a convex curved front designed to fit into 90-degree room corners, providing storage while keeping floor space clear.

Cabinetmakers during this period typically utilised high-grade flame mahogany veneers over oak or pine substrates, finished with brass H-hinges and decorative keyhole escutcheons.

Authentic pieces display period construction techniques, including hand-sawn backboards, original slotted wood screws, hand-cut joinery, and natural age-related shrinkage along the curved veneer.

These wall-hung pieces serve as functional storage in compact dining areas, hallways, or cloakrooms, offering a place to store glassware or ceramics in unutilised wall spaces.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice per year, keeping the wood away from direct radiators and sunlight to prevent veneer movement.
