A Pair of Antique Frames Gilt Gesso Picture Frames.

Description

A fine pair of old frames with highly decorative mid nineteenth century gilt gesso and wood decorated ogee picture frames C.1860.

Old gilt frames.

Antique frame.

Decorated with an imbricated acanthus leaf detail to the top mouldings and variations of rais-de-coeur to the sight edges and back edges.

The corners decorated with naturalistic acanthus leaves and both with deep gilt slips.

In first class condition with no loses or restoration.

Frame size approx:

17 3/8 ins. by 21 1/4 ins. (44 cm. by 54 cm.)

Visible aperture approx:

9 1/2 ins. by 13 1/2 (24.2 cm. by 34.5 cm.)
