Hedley Wilson has dated this Georgian Mahogany Longcase Clock to the 18th Century.
The 13" break arch dial has a moonroller automaton, with subtle artwork, and the spandrels in each corner are silvered, an unusual and attractive feature. This was probably due to the first owner's request, as the silvering appears to be original. It is signed by Nicholas Wilson of Kendal.
The centre of the dial is finely engraved, and with the words ' Thus irrevocable time flieth away ', in a cartouche.
The four pillar movement is of eight day duration
