A beautiful 15 carat gold, opal and split pearl brooch, made c1900 by the important and influential Anglo - German makers Murrle Bennett & Co, who had a base in London’s Hatton Garden and were suppliers to Liberty & Co. Elegant sinuous Art Nouveau design. The cabochon opal in an open-back setting with flashes of purple, lilac and iridescent green. Struck on the rim with the maker’s mark and 15ct for the gold standard of 625 parts per 1,000.
Condition: In lovely antique condition ready to be worn. Clasp and pin in good order.
