Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, prominent from 1920 through the 1930s, is characterised by geometric shapes, linear symmetry, and architectural influence. Designs frequently utilise platinum mounts, step-cut accent stones such as baguettes, and clean lines to contrast with the softer curves of earlier Edwardian pieces.

During the 1920s, platinum became the primary metal of choice due to its strength and ability to be crafted into delicate, light settings. Diamonds remained the predominant gemstone, often paired with geometric baguette cuts, calibre-cut accent stones, and millgrain edge detailing.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut diamonds such as old European cut or transitional cut stones, alongside period metal stamps like PLAT or historic hallmark symbols inside the band. Original settings display hand-finished details, geometric gallery work, and signs of genuine historic wear to the inner shank.

A classic solitaire ring pairs with clean, modern platinum or white gold bands for a stacked look. Its neutral white metal tone allows it to integrate alongside both minimalist contemporary pieces and period jewellery without conflict.

Clean platinum diamond rings using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and oil build-up behind the setting. Professional jewelers should periodically inspect the prongs and channel settings to ensure gemstone security.
