Exquisite Victorian Silver & Agate Thimble in Ormulu Chatelaine Thimble Case, Birmingham 1890

Description

This gorgeous and unusual solid silver thimble with a red carnelian agate top is hallmarked for Birmingham 1890 and bears the marks of James Swann & Son. It comes in a very pretty valise-shaped ormulu thimble case. The outer case reeded. The top with a thumb-piece opening to reveal the original interior fitted with fuchsia satin and red velvet. So often, the interior of these holders are missing. This is a beautiful complete example.

Height: 3cm / 1.1 inches.

Width: 4cm / 1.5 inches.

Depth: 2cm / 0.6 inches.

Condition:

Very good condition.

Thimble in very good condition.

Original interior in good condition.
