Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III style demilune console table is a semi-circular accent table inspired by late 18th-century English Neoclassical designs. Popularised by cabinetmakers such as George Hepplewhite and Thomas Sheraton, these tables feature clean proportions, straight tapered legs, and decorative timber inlays.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany or oak frameworks faced with flame mahogany veneers. Decorative embellishments incorporated satinwood or boxwood crossbanding, ebony stringing, and hand-cut mortise-and-tenon joinery.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-sawn structural elements, subtle timber shrinkage, and natural oxidisation on the underside. Examine the table for hand-cut marquetry, historic wear along the base of the legs, and original fixing methods.

Position the table flat against an entryway or hallway wall, paired with a framed mirror or artwork centred above it. Balance the semi-circular tabletop with a symmetrical arrangement of decorative ceramics or table lamps.

Dust the timber regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually to preserve the finish. Keep the furniture clear of direct sunlight, radiators, and moisture sources to prevent veneer lifting or surface cracking.
