Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian furniture produced between 1901 and 1910 is known for lighter proportions and a revival of 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite styles. Key features include delicate wood stringing, satinwood inlays, turned or tapered legs, and decorative fretwork splats.

Edwardian armchairs commonly feature primary hardwoods such as mahogany or rosewood, adorned with contrasting satinwood or boxwood stringing and marquetry motifs. Seats were historically padded and upholstered in woven fabrics or leather.

Authentic Edwardian pieces exhibit clean mortise and tenon joinery, precise marquetry or stringing flush with the timber surface, and slender square-tapered or cabriole legs. Frame structures are generally lighter in scale compared to heavier Victorian predecessors.

An Edwardian tub chair functions effectively as a desk chair beside a wooden writing table, as an occasional reading chair in a corner, or as paired accent seating in a study or hallway.

Dust the woodwork regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish sparingly along the grain to preserve the timber finish. Position the chair away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage and veneer lifting.
