Victorian Mahogany Folding Library Steps

A set of Victorian solid mahogany folding library steps with original carpet covered treads c.1880. The sturdy solid mahogany frame with flat top forming a stool when folded, the four legs below sweeping outwards for stability, with cross stretchers to the underside. The fold out step section with two steps folding over to form a three tread set of steps, original carpet covered treads to the two lower steps. Polished top step with steady pole set to the corner. Very sturdy and useable and presented in excellent condition with a rich colour and original polish. Keep up to date via Instagram - sturmansantiques. Measures folded 29" high to top step surface plus a 36" high steady pole above the top step x 16" wide x 10" deep. Opens out to a depth of 21".
