On offer for sale is this very fine and ultra-rare WW1 Royal Flying Corps 8-day Mark IV A, cockpit pocket watch by H W Williamson Ltd, No 2061, dating circa 1917. Very fine original silvered dial with full markings and later RAF repair ref markings. Original deep-blued hand set. Snapback case with a complete set of War Department issue marks. Very fine gilt movement in full working order. Diameter 52mm.
For an identical watch no 1760AC please refer to page 394 British Military Timepieces by Konrad Knirim. A very fine example of a seldom-encountered military-issued Royal Flying Corps/RAF pocket watch.
