Super antique ebony pace walking stick or cane.
Two piece ebony pace stick with solid brass and steel fittings. Usually carried by a Warrant Officer or Drill Sergeant or instructor.
Twin hinged ebony legs which are held together at the base with a brass screw fitting so that it can be carried under the arm. This unscrews to free the legs that can then use the brass measure folded within the body to fix the distance for various lengths of marching pace. This bar is secured with the brass crew removed from the base. When not being used on parade the officer holds it under the left arm in the same way they would a swagger stick.
It measures 95.3 cm 37 1/2 inches in length.
The ferrule is original and made of brass with steel tips.
It''s in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you''d expect at this age.
No damage or repairs to any section.
