Description

Dark oak cased week duration grandfather longcase clock, weight driven with pendulum, timepiece only. Square topped hood with blind fretwork, and brass terminal, fluted pillars. Brass dial with matt centre and silvered chapter ring, with brass spandrels and ornate black steel hands, signed John Preston, Beccles. Key winding hole and dummy date aperture at six o'clock. Clock case, dial plate etc. all date from approximately 1760, and the brass 'A' frame movement dates from the mid eighteen hundreds.

Case dimensions - height 71", width 18.5", depth 10".
