A Rare Victorian Silver Game Skewer by a Female Silversmith

A very rare Victorian silver game skewer by a female silversmith. This superb example is of rapier form, with a fully cast figure of a Pheasant to the terminal. The tapering shaft is gently shaped and ribbed and the detail to the bird is excellent. Above the hallmarks is the engraved initial 'W'. The skewer is of good gauge and would make an excellent novelty letter opener, as an alternative use. Dimensions below.
